What does Summit Township collect?
The majority of services on our sites are offered without collecting any personally identifiable information from you. You can view much of our content anonymously.
Information You Provide
There are a few places on our sites where we do collect personally identifiable information. We have to collect information when you enter a contest or contact us or buy something. When we do collect personally identifiable information you will have to fill out a form – it will be obvious that we are asking you for information. Normally, we collect only your name and e-mail address – we might ask for birth date, gender, and zip code.
Information Collected from You with Technology
Summit Township sites collect some information about you using technology, so it may not be readily apparent to you that it is being collected. For instance, when you come to our site your IP address is collected so that we know where to send information you are requesting. An IP address is often associated with the place from which you enter the Internet like your ISP (Internet service provider), your company, or your university. This information is not personally identifiable. Summit Township sites use information collected through technology to make our sites more interesting and useful to you. This includes helping advertisers on our site design advertisements you might like. We normally don’t combine this type of information with personally identifiable information.
What Are Cookies, and How Does Summit Township Use Them?
Cookies are codes that a Web site sends to your computer while you are viewing the Web site. These codes allow Summit Township sites to remember important information that will make your use of that site more useful. Summit Township and other Internet companies use cookies for a variety of purposes.
You can choose to have your computer warn you (or you can turn off the function completely) each time a cookie is being sent. You do this through your browser (like Google Chrome or Internet Explorer) settings. Each browser is a little different, so use your browser’s help function.
Summit Township uses personally identifiable information in a limited number of ways. We use the information to complete transactions, notify you if you won something, offer you access to other products and email newsletters. We can also use the information you provide to send you promotions and offers from our third-party sponsors.
We can share information about you or send a message to you on behalf of another company if we feel the offer might be of interest to you. We might also share information with companies such as delivery companies to get a prize or product to you.
Occasionally we offer special promotions in conjunction with other companies. We may share your information with these other companies. We generally ask your permission, however, before sharing your information.
Content Partners
On some of our sites, we provide content that is created by a third-party partner Web site. In some instances the third-party sites will collect information in order to facilitate the transaction or to make the use of their content more productive and efficient.
