The Summit Township Vacancy Board member is a one-year appointment whose purpose is provided according to the provisions set forth by the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania Second Class Township Code. The vacancy board shall consist of the board of supervisors and one elector of the township, who shall act as chairman of the vacancy board. In the event a vacancy occurs in the board of supervisors by death, resignation, removal from the township, or otherwise, the vacancy board could be convened to appoint a successor.
