Per PennDOT – District 1 News:
A $2.6 million resurfacing project that will give motorists a smoother ride on more than a mile of Route 19 in Summit Township, Erie County is scheduled to start next week.
The project will include paving one mile of roadway from the intersection of Route 19 and Oliver Road to the intersection of Route 19 (Peach Street) and Rotunda Drive in Summit Township. Work will also include traffic signal work, updated drainage, and pavement markings.
Construction is expected to begin May 15, 2024, weather permitting, and is expected to be completed in September 2024.
The majority of work will be completed at night to avoid heavy traffic times.
Motorists may encounter lane restrictions with traffic controlled by flaggers between the hours of 7:00 PM and 7:00 AM Sunday night through Friday morning.
The contractor is Glenn O. Hawbaker, Inc. of State College, PA. The contract cost is $2,594,594, which is to be paid entirely with federal funds.
